Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache. (Source: www.geocaching.com) Almost to the End of Your Journey The Geographic Center of Alberta was determined by accurate measurements of the latitude and longitude of the borders of the province. It was located equidistant from each of the straight-line border segments to the NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, and WEST. This is an Ammo Can placed not too far from the Center of Alberta Cairn. Hopefully this will encourage you to go find this amazing place. Inside this Geocache you will find a few items related to land surveying. Please feel free to grab an item or two and be sure to leave a note in the log book.Wear good footwear if you are walking,preferably rubber boots in the summer as there is usually a lot of water and muskeg in this area.
