| Effective April 1, 2009, land surveyors who licensed in another Canadian province will be required to prove membership in good standing in their home association and pass one four-hour jurisdiction-specific examination. The jurisdiction-specific examination is based on the existing surveying profession, statute law and practical surveying examinations. The pass mark for the jurisdiction-specific examination is 75%. Upon the successful completion of the examination, the candidate must pay the applicable fees and provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage. If a candidate does not achieve a pass mark in the written jurisdictional examination, the ALSA may require the candidate to wait a period of time before attempting the written jurisdictional examination again. The waiting period shall not exceed 30 calendar days.
