We Need Your Help on the New Equity Diversity & Inclusion Committee

Council is looking for a diverse group of members with varied backgrounds and experiences to be a part of a new Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
If you are interested in joining this committee and helping implement the recommendations in the Equity Diversity Inclusion (EDI) Current State Assessment Report and EDI action plan, please contact Executive Director Brian Munday.
The committee will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing the EDI Statement and Action Plan. The committee will be responsible for monitoring progress on the action plan and making updates and changes as needed.
  • Identifying systemic bias, real and perceived, and opportunities to increase awareness and encourage change within ALSA and the practice of land surveying.
  • Developing a framework to increase awareness and promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the ALSA’s complaints and registration processes, standards of practice and advice to the profession.
  • Training and educational opportunities to be made available to Council, Committees, leadership, staff, land surveyors and land surveying corporations.
  • Identifying and developing EDI resources and supports for land surveyors and land surveying corporations.
  • Developing a framework for monitoring and measuring the ALSA’s success in its efforts to apply a diversity, equity and inclusion lens resulting in positive changes to policies, processes and programs.
