ALS News: Right on the Button: Another Milestone for Ross Tate

I am writing on behalf of my family regarding my father, Ross A.F. Tate, who recently had his 101st birthday on November 11, 2021.
You may be interested to learn that he recently joined the Granite Curling Club and has been participating on Wednesday's stick league and enjoying it immensely.  He tells me "I'm not old" and even tried to persuade us he could still deliver rocks from the hack (obviously his mind is more intact than his legs).
Yours sincerely,
 Sheldon Tate

In 2020, Honorary Life Member Ross Tate marked his 100th birthday; in 2021, year he was filmed on Global Television curling at the Granite Curling Club.
At 101 years, Ross is a marvel to us all; remaining fit, very astute, maybe a little hard of hearing but sharp as a tack! Here he was just before New Years delivering a rock and sending it right down to the button. Ross started curling at 14 in Winnipeg but this was the first time he had used the ‘stick.’ Ross curled at the Granite for many years officially retiring a number of years ago.
The Global video can be viewed at

Ross is pictured here with his caregiver Theola and Granite manager Rick Fulmer.
