Feedback Wanted: What to Tell your Client when there is a Potential Insurance Claim

Council approved a recommendation from the Code of Conduct committee to circulate a proposed duty of candour section into the Code of Conduct.

The intent of the recommendation is to provide guidance to practitioners about what they can say and how they can approach situations where they might have made a mistake, and the professional expectation to communicate with a client while balancing the contractual obligations contained within a practitioner’s professional liability insurance policy.

The draft section has already been reviewed by Mark Sampson of Arthur J. Gallagher.

The deadline for responses is Monday October 3rd.
