The Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association is hosting two training sessions this month specifically for statutory committee members (Council, Discipline Committee, Practice Review Board, Registration Committee).
All members are welcome to attend.
June 19 – Unconscious Bias Training
On Wednesday June 19
th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.,
Erin Davis will be presenting an online workshop on unconscious bias training for statutory committee members.
The purpose of the session is to help us identify and mitigate the unconscious biases that all of us have in our decision-making roles on ALSA statutory committees.
Attendees are asked to complete the online questionnaire and watch the workshop videos
in advance of the session.

June 12 – Administrative Law
On Wednesday June 12
th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Annabritt Chisholm of Shores Jardine LLP will be providing training on administrative law for statutory committee members.
This session will cover important principles of natural justice and other elements of procedural fairness to reduce the likelihood that your decisions will be overturned on appeal.
