The Minister of Advanced Education has informed the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association that John de Jong of Brooks, Alberta has been appointed the new public member on the ALSA Council.

Mr. de Jong replaces Russ Barnes who was public member on the ALSA Council since 2007. He was public member to the Practice Review Board from 2003 to 2007. He received the President’s Award in 2019.

Public members fulfill an important role in ensuring that regulatory bodies like the ALSA truly serve and protect the public.
