ALS News: New Alberta Land Surveyor Fraser Mills-Connery, ALS #1079

Fraser attended SAIT's Geomatics Technology program and began working with McElhanney as a summer student in 2017. After two years of enjoyable and educational field experience with great mentors, he decided to continue his education and work towards becoming a land surveyor. Two more years of school at BCIT lead into articling for a BCLS commission in the Lower Mainland. In 2025, Fraser achieved his BCLS commission and moved back to Alberta to live and work in the mountains of Canmore.

Fraser transitioned directly into preparing for the ALSA jurisdictional exam, receiving his ALS commission on January 22, 2026.

Fraser's survey experience is largely in urban environments supporting development, working on subdivisions, right-of-ways, condominiums, RPRs and site surveys.

He spends his free time with his young son and wife enjoying the outdoor recreation opportunities in the Bow Valley.
