We are pleased to announce that, effective February 15, 2026, the Government of Alberta’s Water Boundaries Unit will transition from Alberta Environment and Protected Areas to the Director of Surveys Office within Forestry and Parks.
 
The unit includes two full-time positions and will be supervised by Robyn Graham, ALS. We are happy to welcome Nicole Strauss and Leighton Greenstein, ALS to our team.
 
As this responsibility is new to our office, there will be a period of onboarding, training, and adjustment for both staff and management. While we will make every effort to continue work as smoothly and efficiently as possible, we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period.
 
At this time, there are no changes to submission processes, contact information, or procedures. Please continue to submit plans and direct inquiries to the unit as to the Water Boundaries general email: water.boundaries@gov.ab.ca.
