CLARIFICATION: Hybrid Cadastre Standards V2.1 Release

CLARIFICATION
It has come to our attention that in the Hybrid Cadastre Standards V2.1 recently published, there was an edit made that was not intended to be included in this version. In the introduction section to section 6, this version says that only one Geo-referenced point (RP) is required for mapping purposes.  While this is true for all plans digitally submitted, section 6.1 was not changed in this version, explicitly requiring 2 RPs. This change was under review but it was decided to leave it for the next version in order to get the change to section 5.14 completed expeditiously.  In order to allow leeway for this ambiguity, the Director of Surveys will accept plans with 1 RP, as long as there are at least 2 OCs shown on the plan that are usable for the purpose of redundantly tying into the survey.  If you have any questions please contact us at Hybrid.Cadastre@gov.ab.ca

Watch for the new Hybrid Cadastre Standards available on the AEP website this week at

Aside from some housekeeping edits, the only significant change is to Section 5.14.  Intersections will now be allowed to be surveyed in accordance with standard practice.
