UNB Online Geomatics Courses 2020-2021

The Department of Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering at The University of New Brunswick has a storied history of providing a world-class educational experience from its humble beginnings as the Department of Surveying Engineering to today. This year, we celebrate our 60th Anniversary as a department. Our students currently have a 100% employment rate in an industry that is worth over $3.7 billion dollars. Demand for Geomatics professionals is expected to rise from 14% to 35% over the next 10 years.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, our courses will be offered remotely this coming 2020-2021 school year. We are taking advantage of this to also make a sustainable and permanent transition to remote offering of our courses and ultimately one or both of our degree programs. We hope this provides an opportunity for survey technicians and others who are looking to take a further step in their education and career, and perhaps to address somewhat the capacity gap facing the surveying profession in many parts of Canada. Our remote offerings will allow students living anywhere in Canada to take courses for professional development, exemptions from CBEPS exams, or to qualify as a land surveyor. Remote opportunities may also be possible for those interested in graduate studies.

Remote offerings currently include individual courses or a customized 1-year Diploma. Courses taken this year can also be credited toward our Bachelor of Geomatics and Geomatics Engineering degrees. Feel free to contact us about possibilities for completing these degrees remotely. Our small class sizes creates a family like atmosphere, in which students regularly interact with professors and each other as they progress through their studies.

If you would like more information on our degree programs you are welcome to contact us any time. We would like to hear from you. It's not too late; we are still accepting applications.
